- Buy only what you need: prepare a list of what you need and buy what you expect to consume in the right quantities;
- Reduce the purchase of ultra-processed foods, buy seasonal fruit and vegetables and prefer km 0;
- Buy less and more often;
- Read the label carefully, distinguishing the words "best before" from "expires, best before";
- Check that the refrigerator is adjusted correctly. The fridge temperature should be adjusted to 4 degrees in order to keep the various foods fresh. Furthermore, the temperature varies slightly from shelf to shelf, therefore the food must be placed on the suitable shelves. Foods that require lower temperatures (fruit and vegetables) should be placed on the lowest shelf;
- Freeze fresh foods when they cannot be eaten in a short time, possibly dividing them into portions; 7. Put products close to expiration in sight, in the refrigerator as well as in the pantry;
- Cook just enough and possibly reuse leftovers. There are so many recipes you can make with leftovers!
- Ask for the save bag in restaurants to take home leftovers;
- Share and donate food.
